Jacksonville is a beautiful city, and we believe it can be even greener. Free Tree Jax was founded on a simple idea: give every resident the chance to plant a tree in their yard, their neighborhood, or their community — completely free of charge.
We specialize in Florida-native pine trees, which thrive in our sandy soil, support local wildlife, and grow strong for generations.

How It Works
We Pick a Park
Free Tree Jax selects a public park in Jacksonville and sets a date. We announce each event on our website and Instagram so you always know when and where.
Show Up & Get Your Sapling
Come to the park on the event day and pick up your free Florida-native pine tree seedling. No forms, no appointments — just show up while supplies last.
Plant It & Watch It Grow
Take your sapling home and plant it in your yard or neighborhood. Our volunteers are on hand at every event to answer planting questions.
